Sex and the City premiere in London

So Sex and the City 2 is soon to be presented in our country, of course late! But anyways, I found this video from the premiere in London and also two small pictures of Carrie dressed AMAZING! For this occassion, she chose to wear Alexander McQueen and she said that it was a way of doing him a homage. ''There's only one person I could have worn tonight and that was Alexander McQueen. Lee, this is for you. I miss you very much,'' she said. She also wore an absurd headpiece designed by milliner Philip Treacy.

Kim Cattrall wore a vintage black gown by Thierry Mugler and Manolo Blahnik heels.

Cynthia Nixon wore Narciso Rodríguez and Christian Louboutin heels.
Kristin Davis in a vintage Norman Norell halterneck gown, paired with Jimmy Choo shoes and a Judith Leiber clutch.

The Met's

So finally another red carpet, this time one of my favorites: the Costume Institute Gala. Celebration the opening of the exhibition "American Woman: Fashioning a national identity", which I think is not such an interesting theme like the ones they chose in the past years. But anyways, Vogue has that "love" for "americans".

There were some awesome dresses and... some fails as usual. But almost everyone looked good and proper for the occasion. I think there's not much to say on this entry, everyone can make their own opinion about how everyone dressed for this ball, I made mine and here it is. My favorites and the ones I hated.

Anna Wintour in a dress designed speacilly for her by Karl Lagerfeld/Chanel Haute Couture and Bee Shaffer in Balenciaga. I love the whole look on Anna, Bee's is simple, not very flattering but the fabric is amazing.


The Rodarte designers with Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte for Gap. I must confess I'm a Rodarte whore and must of their designs are lovely. Not an exception this time.

Riley Keough in Thakoon for Gap with the designer Thakoon Panichgul. This dress is gorgeous, I specially love the lenght and the texture created with the ruffles.

First of all, Eva looks sooooo tiny! Anyways... Keren Craig, Eva Longoria and Georgina Chapman all in Marchesa. The tail on Eva's dress makes it more dramatic, but again it's an interesting length.

Carey Mulligan in Miu Miu. Maybe it's not the right dress for this occasion, but the dress on its own it's a great piece, the fabric and the details it has... And she looks cute.

Jack McCollough, Chloe Sevigny and Lázaro Hernández. She's wearing Proenza Schouler.

Joy Briant in another gorgeous dress designed by Marchesa. The chiffon on top of the dress and also on the sleeves and skirt makes it look so soft and delicate, plus the roses on the fabric below the chiffon.

The Valentino designers with Anne Hathaway and Kate Bosworth. I loved the last two collections from Valentino Couture, but in this case I hate this dresses! I don't care if they're all covered in diamonds or Swarovski crystals, but they look so "princess" and that's like a signature look that Anne has. She's stuck on "The princess diaries"!


F*CK! So inappropiate! Wearing jeans and cowboy boots! But anyways, those tacky looks are a trademark and signature from Ralph Lauren.

Gwenie Gwen looking amazingly beautiful as always in a L.A.M.B dress with her husband Gavin Rossdale.

OMFG! WTF! I don't get it! Chado Ralph Rucci is a great designer, with a minimal touch, great designs... but André Leon Talley and Whoopi Goldberg in those things... They look like a priest and a priestess!

Coco Rocha in Zac Posen. The colors are amazing, reminds me a little of McQueen's color pallete from Spring 2010.

Cinderella!? OMG! Doutzen Kroes looks like a Disney Princess in this Zac Posen dress. It's too much!


Ugh! I don't like Kristen Stewart at all! She has a badittude and besides not even a Chanel Haute Couture dress is flattering for her. She looks like she had a dead bat on her boobs.

Planning the Costume Institute Gala

One of my favorite days in fashion is when there's a new exhibition at the Costume Institute, sometimes because of the theme and most of the because of its red carpet. There's always great things to watch! Designers, models, celebrities and of course beautiful dresses.

Tomorrow night, May 3, the Metropolitan museum will be full of this people, on what many considered the most fashionable event of the year or "the Oscars of the East Coast". This year's event has being planned by Sylvana Soto-Ward, a 28-year-old who is an ex-accesories editor promoted to special-events planner at Vogue. "I'm shocked the planning started so early, but it does. It takes almost a year. You get two months off and then right back at it," she said.

This year the ball is sponsored by Gap (last year it was Marc Jacobs and in 2008, Giorgio Armani) and it's dedicated to the fashion of american women from 1890 to 1940. Anna Wintour and Sylvana agreed that Gap is the best sponsor for this year's theme and also for what they're trying to show on their magazine, which is high-fashion clothes mixed with basics or more accesible pieces. Also helping on the event planning is the decorator Raúl Avilla.

There will be 600 guests, this as a part of Anna's decission, so everyone could feel "like they're having dinner with friends". And of course Lady Gaga will be there, she will attend as Prada's guest.

Another thing for this night will be the official narrator: Sarah Jessica Parker. She's the one that will be talking about women's clothing from 1890 to 1940 and homegrown style movements such as the Gibson Girls, bohemians and screen sirens at what they called "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity".

So I guess it will be a very "american" night tomorrow but anyways... not very excited about the exhibition's theme but I can't wait for the red carpet, hopefully we'll see some dramatic dresses and some high fashion.

Elle Style Awards 2010

Looking around the web, I found about some Elle Style Awards so I had to look what they were about. Held during London Fashion Week to honour the most stylish people on TV, music and fashion industry. Here's some categories awarded this year:

Brit Awards 2010

One of the latest red carperts was the one for the Brit Awards 2010 and I found some interesting things. On its 30th edition, many artists presented the awards and also performed on stage. Like Lady Gaga, who dedicated her presentation to Alexander McQueen and thanked him and all the designers who helped her get dressed for the evening gala, while she sang Telephone on a piano with a statue of herself wearing the Armadillo shoes.Tom Ford, who gave the award to Florence & The Machine, said ""I feel so underdressed next to lady Gaga. How amazing did she look?" I somehow agree with him, she doesn't look that bad. The headpiece/mask was amazing and the bodysuit was perfect for the stage. The dress she wore for the red carpet + the headpiece was too much (as always).

So here are some pictures from the Brit Awards plus my comments about them.

First of all she looks like a cross between a priest and Marie Antoinette. I like both things, but separately. And sorry, but I HATE her foolish way of posing. She looks retarded.



Bat for Lashes' Natasha Khan... or should I say "bad" for lashes. She looks really silly and clown-ish. The hat, the cape, the bag, the eye lash. WRONG!



Lilly Allen (looking awful) in Chanel. This dress reminds me a lot of Lady Gaga in the VMAs, maybe because of the shape of the dress. I know both dresses are completely different but I couldn't help but thinking of Gaga when I first saw her.


Alesha Dixon (I have NO idea who she is) wearing Dolce&Gabbana... There's something about the Dolce dresses that I've seen in the last red carpets, they look cheap, first Britney, then Kylie, now this random chic. The fabric looks like bought in Chepe Centro and it's very hoochie.



Alicia Keys in Balmain. She tried, at the AMAs, to look edgy and it was a failure. For the Brit Awards she wore Balmain, with its incredible shoulder pads and she looked gorgeous, besides being a great singer.


Courtney Love ♥ in Miu Miu. I think she's unique. Junkie and messy and whatever you wanna call her you, gotta give her some credit this time. She looks sober and the embellished dress is really cute and looks good on her.




Great on stage. Fail for the red carpet. I don't know when nipples made a come back, but she was flashing some (plus other things flashed).


Florence Welch in Roksanda Ilincic. Has like a gothic look, but with her pale skin and the red hair I think she looks gorgeous.

Katherine Jenkis in Alexander McQueen. Satin dress, with the Queen printed on it. Love the cut, speacially on the top part of it.

Lilly Allen has a weird sense of humor and on this awards she look ridiculous. I hate the Chanel dress plus the wigs. And in this photo she's using the same color and hairdo as Vivienne Westwood. And that doesn't make her look good, clown-ish is what I would say.

But here, with her Givenchy dress and a normal wig she loos way better.

As a friend says "no one does it like the english people" and I guess it's true. If you check all the pictures from the show you will see many great dresses and some pretty ugly things. So, you judge.
